Welcome to DIVIDE, a tribute to the fur-collared, multi-belted, monosyllabic mercenary of Final Fantasy VIII fame, Squall Leonhart. Yeah, I know what you're thinking: whatever.

It's true: there have been a lot of Squall sites over the years. But with this one I've taken something of a different approach. Instead of a series of pages analyzing different aspects of his character, I've chosen to follow his path through the story, because Final Fantasy VIII is as much about Squall as it is about the development of his personality. This site looks at Squall through the lens of a series of moments from the game and watches him grow just as the player does. As a result, you'll find spoilers past the introduction.

The pages in this site are intended to be read in chronological order. (I know, I know, this is FFVIII we're talking about, but work with me.) And don't worry: this site isn't all serious business. It's written to be both enjoyable and interesting to read through, so you can expect yelling about how FFVIII doesn't make a lick of sense right along with analyses.
